Kim+Huan's Vietnamese Wedding in London is a favourite of mine. I photographed this wedding back in 2017, my last year in London. This wedding reportage is pure documentary. Traditional catholic ceremony was held at the Roman Catholic Parish of Bow Common while the following reception took place at the docks both in East London.
There are weddings that unfolds slowly like those that takes place in the country side. In the country everything feels to be going at slow pace, specially if you come from the city. There is a stillness to the country side, a sense of time that goes with the passing of the seasons. In a metropolis like London nothing happens slowly even weddings go at pace. There is no time to wander, to contemplate, mostly is about reacting, adapting, running with it.
I do not approach every wedding the same way, As a documentary photographer the story is the most important thing and a story set in the country must feel and look different from one set in the city. By now you must have realised i am not a wedding photographer but rather a photographer who shoots weddings, below a selection from Vietnamese Wedding London
